We are excited to announce that Ellamay Khongroj Fitzgerald will be part of Outer Space Brisbane’s 2025 Artistic Program with her thought-provoking piece ‘A Seat At The โต๊ะ’, running from 12th September to 11th October 2025.

This powerful work explores the intersection of food, identity, heritage, and culture within the Asian diaspora, and its ability to act as a living archive. The piece focuses on the stories of six Asian Australian participants from Southeast Queensland, whose personal histories illustrate how cultural and ancestral connections are preserved and transformed through the shared act of a meal.

By focusing on community-driven narratives, Ellamay's work offers a poignant exploration of how cultural practices, particularly food-sharing, continue to evolve and shape contemporary identities.

As part of Outer Space’s commitment to showcasing bold, experimental art, ‘A Seat At The โต๊ะ’ is a celebration of the complexities of heritage and the power of food as both a cultural connector and a transformative experience.
