Join artist Lowana Davies at The Falls Farm, hosted by the Mapleton Public House, for an extraordinary sensory experience like no other.
Catching a Whiff is a guided walking tour that invites you to follow your nose through the enchanting smells of Falls Farm. Created as part of a site-specific residency, this immersive event combines science, sound, performance, and olfaction, offering a unique opportunity to connect with the environment in a new and deeply personal way.
As part of the tour, Lowana Davies will lead you through a sensory journey that includes engaging with the soils, orchards, and gardens of Falls Farm. Along the way, you’ll encounter unexpected sensory surprises, discovering the connection between smell and sound, and the way both elements resonate in the natural world.
Composer Tom Lyons joins Lowana in creating an auditory component to the experience, blending the olfactory and auditory qualities of the site to answer creative questions about disappearing sounds and smells. This innovative exploration of scent and sound will deepen your connection to the land and encourage a heightened awareness of the environmental impacts of climate crisis.
Following the tour, enjoy the Mapleton Supper Club Dining Experience - a collaboration between exceptional chefs, dedicated regenerative farmers, and an artist. Set against the stunning backdrop of Mapleton’s rolling countryside, this intimate dining experience includes a live performance and a menu crafted from the very ingredients you’ll encounter during the walking tour.
