Applications are now open for Generate GC 2025-26


Generate GC supports the development of Gold Coast artists working in any artform, who are seeking to develop creative skills through the generation of ideas within community and place.

Successful applicants will:

  • join a cohort of local creatives

  • participate in two intensive labs

  • connect with established artists on the Gold Coast

  • get support to expand your artistic practice

The intensive labs feature presentations, panels and workshops led by industry leaders aiming to expand and provoke ideas.

There is a competitive application and selection process. Successful applicants will be paid a stipend to participate in two four-day intensive labs. They may also be eligible for additional funding to support a research and development (R&D) phase. The R&D phase includes partnership and presentation scoping as well as mentorship with the Program Producer.

Artists working in the following artforms have participated in the program. The is an indication, not an exhaustive list of accepted artforms.

  • Contemporary circus

  • Dance and choreography

  • Design

  • Film and screen media

  • Installation

  • Music

  • Participatory art and social practice

  • Photography and photo media

  • Public art

  • Sculpture

  • Site-based practice

  • Sound art

  • Theatre

  • Visual art

Key dates

  • Applications close: Thursday 27 March 2025 at midnight AEST

  • Notification of interviews: By 10 April 2025

  • Interviews conducted: 22 April 2025

  • Notification of outcomes: By 30 April 2025

  • Program starts: July 2025

  • Program ends: June 2026
